The Geminids meteor shower, one of the most anticipated annual events in the sky, is reaching its peak tonight, December 13th, and into the early hours of December 14th. This year, stargazers are in for a spectacular display, with up to 120 meteors visible per hour under optimal conditions.

Unlike other meteor showers, the Geminids will shine bright thanks to the absence of moonlight in the late hours of the night and early morning, providing perfect viewing opportunities for those looking to catch a glimpse of the celestial show. The best time to observe the meteor shower will be between 2 am and 4:30 am on December 14th, when peak activity is expected.

witness this stunning phenomenon, simply look to the eastern sky after 9 pm on December 13th, overhead at midnight, and toward the western sky at dawn on December 14th. The meteors will appear near the constellation of Gemini, from which the shower gets its name.

No binoculars or other optical equipment are necessary – just find a dark spot away from city lights, lie back, and enjoy the spectacle of shooting stars lighting up the night sky.

Don’t miss this chance to experience one of the most vibrant meteor showers of the year!
