The Ratnapura Magistrate's Court has ordered today (December 10) the remand of ASP Neville Silva, the former Director of the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD), until December 13.
ASP Silva was arrested on Monday (December 9) by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) following an inquiry into allegations of misconduct.
The investigation stems from a complaint claiming that he acted partially towards a complainant during an investigation conducted by the CCD in August 2023.
The CID has confirmed that ASP Silva was involved in aiding and abetting an abduction and wrongful confinement related to the case. Further investigations are ongoing.
