Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara announced that three important legal reforms, the Proceeds of Crime Bill, the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Insolvency Bill, and amendments to the Audit Bill will be tabled in Parliament at the beginning of the next quarter.

Speaking during today’s (December 4) parliamentary session, the minister stated that these legislations aim to recover stolen assets and strengthen measures against money laundering and drug trafficking.

Additionally, the proposed amendments to the Audit Act are intended to enhance creditor confidence and ensure the protection of debtors’ rights.

The minister highlighted these reforms as vital steps toward improving the legal and financial systems of the country.
