Landslide Warnings Issued for 6 Districts

As a result, a Level 1 (Yellow) alert has been issued for multiple Divisional Secretariat Divisions and nearby areas within the districts of Badulla, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, and Nuwara-Eliya, detailed as follows,

Badulla District: Badulla, Hali Ela, Meegahakiwula, Bandarawela, and Passara. 

Kandy District: Pasbage Korale, Pathahewaheta, Pathadumbara, Gangawata Korale, Doluwa, Hatharaliyadda, Ganga Ihala Korale, Yatinuwara, Poojapitiya, Ududumbara, Medadumbara, Udapalatha, Delthota, Udunuwara, Panwila, Harispattuwa, Akurana, and Thumpane.

Kegalle District: Aranayake, Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya, Mawanella, Yatiyanthota, and Ruwanwella. 

Kurunegala District: Rideegama.

Matale District: Laggala Pallegama, Pallepola, Wilgamuwa, Matale, Ukuwela, Rattota, Naula, Yatawatta, and Ambanganga Korale.

Nuwara Eliya District: Kotmale, Hanguranketha, and Walapane.

Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The NBRO advises monitoring conditions closely and being prepared to evacuate if needed.
