Clashes Erupt During Development Officers' Protest near the Education Ministry

A protest by Development Officers demanding permanent teaching positions led to a tense situation outside the Ministry of Education in Isurupaya, Battaramulla, this evening (December 2).
The demonstrators obstructed the Kottawa - Battaramulla Road, causing major traffic delays and prompting police intervention.
The situation escalated into clashes, with three police officers injured during the altercation. One officer was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
Four suspects were arrested for involvement in the incident, while three protesters were taken into custody for disrupting traffic and creating unrest.
Authorities have brought the situation under control, and traffic on the Kottawa - Battaramulla Road has resumed. Further investigations are ongoing on the incident.
