Adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka have affected 469,872 people from 139,439 families across 24 districts, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

As of 6:00 AM today (December 2), the DMC reports a death toll of 17, with no individuals reported missing and 20 reported to have sustained injuries.

The DMC states that 10,204 people from over 3,000 families are currently housed in 99 safety shelters, while 65,020 individuals from 18,886 families have taken refuge in the homes of relatives.

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has extended landslide warnings for nine districts until 4:00 PM today (November 2). Yellow and amber alerts remain in effect for areas in Badulla, Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura.

Meanwhile, the Irrigation Department reports that flood warnings for certain areas have been revoked as water levels in several rivers have receded. The department confirmed that all flood-affected areas returned to normal as of last evening (December 1).
