The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has initiated special inspections during the festive season to protect consumers, running from December 1 to January 15. These raids target retail stores, supermarkets, wholesale outlets, and warehouses across all districts to prevent expired or improperly labeled products from entering the market.
The CAA will also oversee outlets selling clothing, electronics, and other essential goods. Inspectors will ensure proper trade practices, such as issuing official invoices, displaying accurate product prices, and selling goods at the designated rates.
Mobile vendors and stores hosting large seasonal sales are under scrutiny. Outlets previously identified for violations are being closely monitored to prevent repeat offenses.
Consumers are encouraged to report any complaints or irregularities by contacting the CAA hotline at 1977.
