A/L Exam Papers Retrieved from Flood-Affected Northern Areas

The Sri Lanka Air Force has successfully retrieved GCE Advanced Level examination papers from areas affected by severe weather in the Northern Province. Examination papers from centers in Delft Island, Welladi, and Nagadeepa were airlifted using helicopters and handed over to the Northern Province Department of Education yesterday (November 29).

The GCE Advanced Level Examination, which began on November 25, was initially postponed for three days from November 27 due to heavy rains and flooding. Considering worsening weather conditions, the Department of Examinations later decided to extend the postponement until December 3.

The exams are scheduled to resume on December 4, 2024, with a revised timetable released to accommodate the postponed sessions as follows,

Exams on 27th November, Rescheduled for 21 December 2024, Exams on 28th November, Rescheduled for 23 December 2024, Exams on 29th November, Rescheduled for 27 December 2024, Exams on 30th November, Rescheduled for 28 December 2024, Exams on 02nd December, Rescheduled for 30 December 2024, Exams on 03rd December, Rescheduled for 31 December 2024 according to the Department of Examinations.
