The relief teams are currently (as of 29th November 2024) working in full swing to provide necessary aid and support to affected communities.
With the heavy rainfall Karthivu and Navinnaweli in Ampara, Mailapancheni, Safinagar, Thuwakkuwa Junction, Muthur Junction and Kattaparichchan in Trincomalee, Chilaw, Pallama, Arachchikattuwa and Bingiriya in Puttalam and Parakramapura (Ma Oya) and Buddangala (Weli Ela) in Anuradhapura were inundated and the relief teams were deployed in these areas for flood relief duties.
During relief operations in the Navinnaweli area of Ampara district, the Navy recovered the body of a deceased individual.
