The Bribery Commission filed the case against Chandrawansa Pathiraja, former Chairman of the Development Lotteries Board (DLB), alleging misconduct by awarding promotional activities for lottery tickets to private companies without following the standard tender procedures. This action reportedly caused financial losses to the DLB.
Previously, the Colombo High Court summoned Minister Herath on September 24 to provide testimony. After reviewing the presented facts, Judge R. S. S. Sapuvida scheduled the evidence hearing for February 5, 2025, instructing Minister Herath to appear again on that date.
