'Rajarata Rajina' Train Derails Near Colombo Fort

The Rajarata Rajina train traveling from Anuradhapura to Beliatta derailed this morning (November 29) between the Colombo Fort and Secretariat Halt railway stations. The incident occurred around 11:10 AM, causing the engine compartment to come off the tracks.
The derailment has damaged the railway track and disrupted train services on one coastal line. Authorities are working to assess the damage and restore normal operations.
No injuries have been reported so far, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.
