The engineering office in charge of the Polgolla Reservoir has announced that, due to heavy rainfall in the central hills nine sluice gates have been opened to release water. Each gate has been opened to a height of 6 feet and 8 inches.The total water release rate from these gates is 36,000 cubic feet per second.
The office has stated that the sluice gates will remain open depending on the rainfall levels, and they are closely monitoring the situation. Authorities are urging residents living downstream of the reservoir to remain cautious, as fluctuations in the water level may occur.
