According to Dr.Jayathissa, the second reading of the Budget will be held on February 17, while the debate on the third reading is scheduled to take place from February 27 to March 21, 2025.
In addition, the Cabinet has approved the President's request to present a Vote on Account to cover government expenditures for the first four months of 2025.
The Vote on Account will be debated in Parliament on December 5 and 6, 2024, allowing the government to ensure necessary funding until the full budget is passed.
These developments come as the government prepares for the upcoming fiscal year, focusing on securing financial stability and addressing key national priorities.
