IPL 2025 auction set to kick off in Jeddah
The IPL’s mega auction is scheduled to commence at 12:30pm (Jeddah time), the New India Express reported.
It said as many as 574 players, including 18 from Afghanistan, were up for grabs at two-day auction in Jeddah.
After Dubai hosted the IPL 2024 auction last year, this time it will be in Jeddah.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc smashed auction records last time when he signed with Kolkata Knight Riders for 2.98 million dollars.
From Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Noor Ahmad, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujib Zadran, Fazal-ul-Haq Farooqi, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, Waqar Salamkhil, Zahir Khan, Sediqullah Atal, Najib Zadran, Ibrahim Zadran, Qais Ahmad, Karim Janat, Nangyal Kharoti and Faridoon Daudzi have been shortlisted.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans had retained veteran leggie and Afghanistan T20 skipper Rashid Khan ahead of the 2025 auction.
