Minister of Health and Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, has denied claims that he conducted an inspection tour of a state hospital in Kandy, addressing alleged shortcomings.
In a statement, the Media Secretary to the Minister dismissed the circulating reports as false, highlighting that they have been spreading on social media in both Sinhala and English.
The statement clarified that yesterday, November 22, Minister Jayatissa remained at the Health Ministry premises in Colombo, engaging in discussions with representatives from seven health sector trade unions. It emphasized that the minister did not visit any hospital or other location during the day.
The Health Ministry urged the public to disregard these baseless reports and not be misled by misinformation circulating online.
