MPs to Receive Fuel-Efficient Vehicles as their Official Vehicles

Minister Ananda Wijayapala explained that these vehicles will help MPs serve the public during their tenure in a more efficient manner. He further stated that no luxury vehicles will be given to the MPs, a move aimed at reducing public fund wastage.

Previously, Government vehicles that were running at a cost of Rs. 500-Rs to 300 per kilometer could be run at a cost of 100, revealed in the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Energy and Transport in March 2024.
