Former Members of Parliament (MPs) have been instructed to return their official residences by tomorrow, according to the Secretary General of Parliament, Kushani Rohanadheera.
Out of the all previously allocated official residences, only around 30 have already returned their accommodations.
Renovations are currently underway for approximately 70 residences, carried out by the Sri Lanka Air Force, Navy, and Army.
The Secretary General stated that official residences for the newly elected MPs of the 10th Parliament will be allocated starting December 3. Although this process could legally begin on November 21, it was postponed to allow time for ongoing renovations.
The inaugural session of the 10th Parliament is set for November 21, with the next sitting scheduled for December 3.
