All lectures, tuition classes ,workshops, and seminars for students preparing for the 2024 GCE Advanced Level (A/L)examination have been prohibited from midnight tonight, the Department of Examinations announced. This new regulation is part of enhanced measures to ensure fairness and integrity during the upcoming exams.
The Department of Examinations has warned that legal action will be taken against anyone found violating this ban. In a statement, officials emphasized that stricter monitoring procedures would be in place for this year’s examination process. In addition to the Department’s regular monitoring staff, officers from provincial and zonal offices will be deployed to oversee the examinations.
Each monitoring officer will be responsible for overseeing 20 examination centers over the course of the 15-day exam period, which starts on November 25 and concludes on December 20. A total of 333,185 candidates are expected to sit for the 2024 A/L exams, which will be held across 2,312 examination centers.
In a related measure, only the Chief Invigilator and Additional Chief Invigilator at each examination center will be allowed to bring mobile phones into the examination halls. The strict mobile phone policy is aimed at preventing cheating and ensuring the security of the exam process.
The Department has called on all stakeholders to comply with these new regulations to maintain the credibility and transparency of the examination system.
