IMF Delegation Meets Former President Wickremesinghe

Former State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe, who attended the meeting, shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the IMF team praised the former government’s efforts in steering Sri Lanka’s economy out of its worst crisis and towards sustainable growth.

Semasinghe highlighted that the discussions focused on the importance of policy continuity and safeguarding the hard-earned economic reforms. “We stressed the need to protect these achievements and make sure these achievements are not reversed to secure stability and ensure long-term economic development,” he stated.
