Landslide Warning Issued for Several Districts

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued a pre landslide warning for several regions in Sri Lanka effective from 5th November 4:00 PM to today 6th November 4:00 PM The alert is aimed at mitigating potential risks due to adverse weather conditions.

The warning specifically affects the following Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Kegalle District: Kegalle, Dehimbvita, Mawanella, Yatianthota, Bulathkohupitiya, Ruwanwella, Warakapola, Deraniyagala, Aranayaka, and Galigamuwa. In the Ratnapura District, the affected areas include Kuruwita, Aheliyagoda, and Ratnapura.

Additionally, residents in Badulla, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kurunegala, and Matara districts have been advised to remain alert for any signs of potential landslides.

The NBRO has urged authorities and the public to take immediate precautions and stay informed through official channels. The organization emphasized the importance of monitoring weather conditions closely in these areas during this critical period.
