Public Urged to Elect Responsible Politicians in Upcoming Election

Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Rathnayake has emphasized the importance of voters choosing politicians who respect policy and integrity. He stated that it is the prime duty of citizens to ensure that their votes are not wasted on candidates seeking temporary benefits.
Mr.Rathnayake highlighted the need for a Parliament filled with intelligent and principled individuals to maintain a clean and effective legislative environment.
In related comments, Executive Director of PAFFRELL, Rohana Hettiarachchi, noted that only two political parties are actively engaged in election campaigning.
Additionally, Police Media Spokesman Nihal Thalduwa reported that 119 individuals have been arrested for violations related to the electoral process. Voters are encouraged to remain vigilant and make informed choices in the upcoming elections.
