Four NDF Candidates in Matara Claim Names added Without Consent

The four nominees, Tharanga Deshapriya, Chamal Lasantha, Nishal Prinayantha, and Prasad Udaya, three wheeler drivers by profession, reported to Deniyaya Police that they only discovered their nomination after receiving polling cards along with the candidate list from the postal department.

Police had sent their complaint to the election office at the Matara Police Superintendent, who also informed the Election Commission. The four have been advised to take the matter further by filing an official complaint with the Matara Returning Officer. The NDF is running in this general election under the car symbol.
