Former Minister Johnston Fernando Granted Bail Over Unregistered Luxury Vehicle Case

Former Minister Johnston Fernando, who was recently arrested regarding an unregistered luxury vehicle allegedly linked to him, has been granted bail. The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court ordered his release on five surety bails, each valued at Rs. 5 million.
Fernando was taken into custody by the CID on October 23 after an unregistered BMW car reportedly belonging to him was found suspiciously parked at a star-class hotel. He had been remanded until October 30 ( today). The arrest followed Fernando’s visit to the CID to provide a statement on the vehicle.
