Speaking at an election public rally in Padukka, she explained that while the former President promised a pay raise, the Cabinet decision was made without consulting the Treasury or Ministry of Finance officials.
“The decision was announced, but the essential steps to implement it were not taken,” she said. “This is clearly an election-time promise meant to mislead the public.”
