With New Zealand's surprising win against India on Indian soil today, the World Test Championship (WTC) points table has opened up, keeping Sri Lanka in contention for the final. Sri Lanka currently holds third place, behind India and Australia. To qualify for the final, Sri Lanka needs to win their upcoming Test series against South Africa in South Africa and Australia at home, both challenging tasks.

Points in the WTC table are awarded as follows, 12 points for a win, 6 for a tie, and 4 for a draw. Teams are ranked based on their percentage of points won. The top two teams will qualify for the final at Lord’s in 2025. Points can also be deducted for slow over rates.
