The Cabinet of Ministers has officially approved the appointment of Mrs. Pathirage Sandhya Kumuduni Rajapakse as the new Government Analyst. This decision was announced during a Cabinet press conference by Cabinet Spokesman Vijitha Herath.

Mrs. Rajapakse's appointment comes in the wake of the retirement of Mrs. Deepika Seneviratne, who served as the Government Analyst until October 11, 2024. Mrs. Rajapakse, who is next in line on the seniority list of special grade officers within the Sri Lanka Scientific Service, is currently serving as the Additional Government Analyst.

The proposal for her appointment was put forward by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who also holds the portfolio for Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Labour.

This transition marks a significant step in ensuring the continuity of leadership within the Government Analyst's office, as the country continues to prioritize scientific and analytical advancements.
