Ranil Wickremesinghe to make Public Statement on Political Future

In the statement, he is expected to discuss the country’s political situation and outline his future plans. 

Despite announcing earlier that he would not run in the General Election or seek a National List seat, parties supporting Wickremesinghe will contest the election under the New Democratic Front (NDF) with the 'Gas Cylinder' symbol, the same symbol he used as an independent candidate in the presidential race.
