A SriLankan Airlines flight from Sydney to Colombo, UL607, experienced a serious incident when a verbal altercation occurred between the captain and First Officer, leading to the captain locking the First Officer out of the cockpit.

The situation escalated when the First Officer requested a toilet break, and the captain closed the cockpit door before a cabin crew member could assist.

A senior cabin crew member intervened to help resolve the standoff, allowing the First Officer to return.

Following the safe landing in Colombo, the First Officer filed a complaint, prompting an investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority. SriLankan Airlines has confirmed the captain has been grounded during the inquiry and emphasized its commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
