Postal voting for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha in the 2024 Local Government Elections is set to take place today (14th October ), according to the Election Commission. Voters unable to cast their postal votes today will have another chance on 18th October.
Nominations for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha in the 2024 Local Government Elections were accepted between 9th September and 12th September. A total of 10 recognized political parties and 2 independent groups had made deposits for the election. However, only 9 political parties and 2 independent groups submitted their nomination papers on the final day (12th September).
According to Galle District Secretary W. A. Dharmasiri, nomination papers from 8 recognized political parties and one independent group were accepted.
The election for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha is scheduled for 26th October.
