The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has mandated that Members of Parliament must declare their assets and liabilities within two years of their retirement, as per the newly enacted Anti-Corruption Act.
An initial report of these declarations is to be submitted to Parliament within two weeks. Afterward, former MPs will have a two-year window to disclose any additional assets and liabilities.
Notably, many former parliamentarians have opted not to contest in the upcoming general election.
