Sri Lanka is in discussions with New Delhi to implement India's PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, a project planning tool that has facilitated the approval of infrastructure projects worth over INR 15 trillion since its launch in 2021.

The GatiShakti initiative enhances multi-modal connectivity by integrating data from various ministries, promoting efficiency and transparency in infrastructure development.

India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed ongoing diplomatic engagements with Sri Lanka and other developing nations, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Senegal, and Madagascar, to explore the adoption of this model.
