Today marks the final day for presidential election candidates to submit their campaign income and expenditure reports, with the deadline set for 3 PM. As of now, only 20 candidates have reported their expenses, according to the Election Commission. Under election law, results from the presidential election must be announced along with the financial reports within 21 days of the election. Candidates are required to submit these reports through the voter who nominated them, whether from a recognized political party or an independent candidate.


The Election Commission has warned that legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply. Candidates found guilty of not submitting their reports may face severe penalties, including loss of voting rights and a fine of one lakh Atahra rupees. The Commission emphasizes the importance of transparency in the electoral process.
