Today, a virtual meeting was held between Sri Lankan officials and Ms. Samantha Power, Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The discussion focused on key areas of mutual importance and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in international development.

Ms. Power emphasized the alignment between the Sri Lankan government’s policy statement and USAID’s objectives. She announced that USAID would provide full support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the Sri Lankan people.

"USAID is committed to supporting the development efforts in Sri Lanka," Ms. Power stated. "These shared goals create a strong foundation for collaboration."

The meeting also addressed how expanded cooperation could facilitate the development process in Sri Lanka. Both sides expressed optimism about future partnerships aimed at advancing the country’s development agenda. 

This engagement underscores a commitment to strengthening ties between Sri Lanka and the United States, paving the way for impactful development initiatives.
