Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has requested Thailand's help in rescuing Sri Lankans still detained in Cybercrime camps in Myanmar's Myawaddy region. During a meeting with Thai Ambassador Paitoon Mahapannaporn at the Prime Minister's Office Yesterday (10th October), the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Thailand's assistance in rescuing 28 Sri Lankans and urged further support for the 40 remaining detainees.
The discussion also covered strengthening bilateral ties. The discussion included advancing the tourism sector, adopting modern agricultural techniques, and collaborating on research in post-harvest technology and food processing between the Faculties of Agriculture at the University of Ruhuna and Wayamba University.
