Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Khalid Hamoud Nasser Aldasam Alkahtani, met with me at the Presidential Secretariat.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alkahtani conveyed the best wishes of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on my election victory.
The discussion centred on the current regional situation and the strong friendship and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for Sri Lanka’s longstanding support and the continuous collaboration between the two nations.
Special attention was given to increasing Sri Lanka’s tea exports to Saudi Arabia, and both parties focused on strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Alkahtani commended the government’s efforts in formulating a national policy to attract investors to Sri Lanka. He emphasized the importance of creating a favourable environment to encourage further Saudi investment, highlighting that significant investments have already been made, providing an opportunity for enhanced future cooperation.
Furthermore, Ambassador Alkahtani expressed confidence that the diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger through this meeting.
