The Ministry of Health has reported a shortage of around 80 types of medicine in Sri Lanka. A senior official confirmed that hospitals have been granted permission to purchase these medicines directly to maintain essential services.
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has repeatedly raised concerns over the shortage, urging authorities to take immediate action to prevent any negative impact on patients' health.
