The Department of Probation and Child Care Services has initiated a program to issue birth certificates for children whose births have not been registered. Officers are working with district child protection officers to identify and assist these children, especially for school admissions.
Despite these efforts, many children still face challenges without birth certificates. Parents or guardians are urged to seek help from child protection officers at their district secretariat, with services provided free of charge. The program is a joint effort with the Registrar General’s Department.
