Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first in Sri Lanka's opening match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, in Sharjah today (3rd October). Both teams are competing in Group 'A' alongside Australia, India, and New Zealand.

Sri Lanka will face tough competition as they are set to play India on 9th October in Dubai, and later defend their position against Australia and New Zealand. Group ‘B’ features Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals on 17 and 18 October, with the final taking place on 20 October in Dubai.
