Former President to Contest General Election Under 'Gas Cylinder' Symbol

Wickremesinghe also used this symbol during his presidential campaign. 

Former MPs backing him are awaiting the Election Commission’s decision on securing the ‘Gas Cylinder’ symbol. If unsuccessful, they may contest under the ‘Elephant’ or another common symbol. The group met at the Election Operations office of the former president at Flower Road yesterday (2nd October) to finalize their decision.
