The Tourism Development Authority announced plans to reinstate the Cabinet decision to waive tourist visa fees for 39 countries.
Chairman Priyantha Fernando cited delays in issuing the gazette notification due to parliament’s dissolution but noted they are exploring the President's authority to reimplement the policy.
He also emphasized that the suspension of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system has caused an estimated $100 million loss to Sri Lanka over the last two months.
