This morning (02nd), President met with Mr. Mizukoshi Hideaki, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, at the Presidential Secretariat.
President During the conversation, he congratulated President on his new tenure and emphasized the Japanese government’s commitment to strengthening the long-term relationship between the two countries. He assured their full support for efforts to establish a corruption-free and transparent governance system.
President engaged in a detailed discussion about areas of mutual interest and agreed on the importance of collaborating closely as friendly nations moving forward.
President Mr. Hideaki also shared updates on the steps being taken to re-implement projects initiated under the JICA Fund, including the expansion of Bandaranaike International Airport and the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting project. Additionally, he assured me that there would be support for Sri Lankans in learning Japanese and accessing employment opportunities in Japan.
