Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, has confirmed that there have been no reported injuries to Sri Lankans residing in Israel following recent missile strikes launched by Iran.
Ambassador Bandara stated that the embassy has advised all Sri Lankans in the region to seek shelter and remain safe. He emphasized that the situation is being closely monitored by the embassy.
The missile strikes were carried out by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which claimed responsibility for targeting key military locations in response to perceived aggression by Israel.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military reported that missiles had been launched at occupied Palestine. Video footage from various cities in Iran, including the capital, Tehran, showed the barrage of missiles being fired. The IRGC stated that the attacks were a form of retaliation for crimes committed by Israel in Palestine and Lebanon.
