The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an investigation into diplomatic appointments granted to children, relatives, and friends of politicians during the previous regime.
Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath announced yesterday that the ministry is preparing a comprehensive report on these appointments. Minister Herath has instructed officials to submit a detailed report on the matter.
While the government plans to recall politically affiliated appointees, the process will not be immediate and will take some time, according to the minister.
