Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Chairman D.J. Karunarathne has reassured the public that there is no risk of a fuel shortage in Sri Lanka, as the corporation maintains sufficient stocks. Speaking to the media, Karunarathne outlined CPC's plans for a stable fuel supply, with stock maintenance schedules set on a weekly basis.

"Fuel orders are secured for the next three months, and as of 1st October, supplies are planned through to April next year. There is no cause for concern" he stated.

He also confirmed that the government will continue to follow the cabinet-approved fuel price formula and is working to establish a regulatory body to oversee fuel pricing, ensuring transparency.

Addressing concerns about foreign oil companies operating in Sri Lanka, Karunarathne highlighted that, discussions would be held with local distributors to resolve issues of reluctance in cooperation.
