A high-level delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the Asia Pacific Department, is set to visit Sri Lanka today (2nd October). The delegation will hold discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the country's new economic team from 2nd October to 4th October.

The visit aims to address the latest economic developments and reforms under Sri Lanka’s IMF-supported economic program, according to a spokesperson for the IMF.

Cabinet Spokesperson Vijitha Herath noted that only preliminary discussions regarding Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program will take place during the visit, with further detailed talks scheduled for later in October in New York.
