A newly discovered asteroid, roughly the size of a school bus and measuring 10 meters across, is set to become Earth's temporary "mini moon." This asteroid will pass close enough to Earth on Sunday for the planet's gravity to capture it, causing it to orbit Earth for about 57 days.

Although the mini moon won't be visible to the naked eye, it presents a unique opportunity for astronomers to study short-lived space companions and gain insights into their behavior.
