Despite the ongoing conflict, Sri Lankans residing in the country are safe, as assured by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon. Ambassador Kapila Jayaweera stated that the embassy is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining contact with the Sri Lankan community to ensure their safety.

There are approximately 7,600 Sri Lankan workers in Lebanon, most of whom live in the southern regions. Despite recent Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in northern Lebanon, Ambassador Jayaweera confirmed that no Sri Lankans are in the conflict zones.
