Newly appointed Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has announced that the government will allocate additional funding for the education sector. She has directed officials to address the public's distrust of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations.
Dr. Amarasuriya directed the Department of Examinations to release all delayed exam results promptly. Furthermore, the Prime Minister's Secretariat has instructed to immediately discontinue the practice of inviting politicians to school events.
