Instructions from the Prime Minister to the examination department to release all the exam results which have been delayed so far.

Immediately stop bringing politicians to school functions.

The Prime Minister mentioned this in the discussion held with officials from all departments of the Ministry of Education in the morning today (2024.09.26).

The Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who commented, said

that the development of school education is one of the main objectives of the current government. We have decided to allocate more allocations for education under our government. These institutions should work to eliminate the mistrust that has arisen among the people regarding the Ministry of Education and the Examination Department. In particular, speed up the conduct of examinations and delivery of results.

The filling of teacher vacancies should be done through a proper system. Vacancies should be filled in a transparent manner so as to instill confidence in the people. I have a small suggestion from the school side. Even if it is not possible to do it at once, the schools report to me the problems of mental health and mental discomfort. We must intervene in this matter. There is one thing we need to understand. This generation also faced Covid. He also faced domestic problems caused by the collapse of the economy. A generation that comes with all this. There are problems in this generation, such as family problems and lack of connection with teachers.

The Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said here that lunch programs should be regularized in order to improve the nutrition of school children, infrastructure development should be done in an orderly and accepted method transparently, and people's representatives should be stopped from being brought to schools.

Prime Minister's Secretary Pradeep Saputantri, Secretary of the Ministry of Education Thilaka Jayasundara and all heads of the Ministry of Education participated in this event.
