According to reports, all political parties and groups that supported former President Ranil Wickremesinghe are planning to participate in this year's parliamentary elections, through a political alliance. However, no final decision has been made yet.
A special meeting between UNP representatives and former President Wickremesinghe is among several discussions scheduled for today. The talks will focus on the strategy for contesting the upcoming elections including the choice of symbol and the formation of the alliance. Additionally key groundwork for the potential alliance is expected to be discussed.
